Japan Climate Leaders’ Partnership will continue to proceed
with initiatives on decarbonization
TOKYO – In the early hours of this morning (JST), US President Donald Trump announced that the US would be withdrawing from the Paris Agreement.
Japan Climate Leaders’ Partnership (Japan-CLP) holds the view that greenhouse gas-induced climate change is based on scientific knowledge, and considers that we have a responsibility to future generations to make every effort to reduce any and all tangible risks.
The aim of Japan-CLP is to work towards achieving the long-term goals set forth in the Paris Agreement, thereby enhancing the sustainability of the global environment, and our hope is to be a business group that will continue to grow as the world makes the transition to a net-zero society.
We will continue to cooperate with businesses both in Japan and internationally, regardless of the declaration by the US to pull out of the Paris Agreement, to proactively push forward with activities on the path to a net-zero society.
